Hi,
I have few boards witch green fiber IC chips on it. I took a picture of one of them because I'm not sure if they contain gold inside.
I was just wonder is someone could take a look and let me know if those chips contains gold.
If i not mistaken they do not have gold but I want second opinion on them.

Yes, the green parts have a little gold (very little), the majority of the precious metals are contained in the black portion of the BGA.

Recovery requires incineration and concentration of the very small gold wires. Full incineration (nothing but white ash) is needed so carbon does not rob you of your gold.

There are many great threads on the subject.

Search BGA (ball grid arrays), or north/south bridge chips (N/S chips).
