I have quite a few boards out of old mainframes that I've been planning on putting on Ebay.

Is this really the best place for them? Even if you take the aluminum cover off, I think all the good stuff is facing the board...so I don't really know what it looks like.

They are IBM, similar to chips that you get if you search google for "IBM SLT". These are the square ones, not the round packages.

I refer to them as "IBM silver cans" but they can go by other names as well.
They are eye candy to old mainframe guys like me who know what they are
and what they came out of. Here is one topic that might help you. I searched
on "IBM silver cans" and many threads came up.

Good luck with your adventure.

Hey now...I really like them too, if for no reason other than their history. Not something I could crush up and process. This stuff is rapidly disappearing from the earth.

Unfortunately, that which isn't, is rapidly accumulating in my garage.
