hello everyone,

often there are potts in the scrap which are made of stainless and sometimes they have handles which are plated with Au.

how thick is these kind of plating?

often it's gone, better it is rubbed of on the most touched spots.

i think these platings in the most cases are thin.
but as thin as ENIG platings?

is there everyone who have worked with these kind of material?

best regards, Frank!

I have no idea about the actual plating thickness on these, but I can say that I have always been disappointed with the amounts I have recovered from plated items - taps, watch cases and rf connectors

hello,

"Up to 1 micron can be expected (from what I know)"

what the hell...a fifth of an ENIG plating?

Greetings!
