Good evening everybody,
I would like to ask a question about yield, even if I know that it can depend on many factors, but just to have an idea of the average.
So, how much is the yield from the "pins" or "connectors" of the rj45 port? they are the port that are for example in modem.
I'm asking because I like to collect them, but now I'm thinking that maybe is better to leave them on the board because of the loss of weight of the plastic port, not sure thou.
Thanks!

Impossible to answer, there are so many versions of RJ-45 ports made over the last 30 years.

If you value your time anything close to a normal salary then it probably is a loss trying to recover the gold from those ports.

Most RJ45 ports hardly contain any gold at all. Probably not worth the time to snip them off the board. Get paid for the complete weight.
