Hello everyone,
Came across some gold plated brass material.
Like most gold plated stuff, I expect there to be a nickel layer between the gold and the base metal.
I was wondering if using a dilute nitric solution will be a good approach to dissolve the nickel layer and free the gold plating, before the acid gets working on the brass.
Any input will be much appreciated !
