Hello,

Just curious if people have tried to recycle these boards before, and if it is worth it...
These are from old 'stepper' stereolithography machines, circa early 1980's.

I have hundred of them, some different types that are not shown here.

Thanks!
George

Looks like full gold plating under coating. Those would sell like hot cakes on eBay.

Hey there I've been trying myself with a few boards like that it's kinda tuff to get threw the outer layer but let me know how it goes for you.

Thanks!

Any idea what that coating is, or how it can be removed.
That explains the problem I had when I did a test run with a few. The gold just wouldn't come off the boards...

Did a little research browsing the forum, and the coating seems to be Parylene.
I wonder if just grinding the boards up, then processing them would be useful...
I used to have this industrial paper shredder, which was more like a huge 'chipper' that would have worked
perfect. Too bad I threw it away after banging my shins on it too many times.

Hi

I did similar boards, connections are thick plated and if I recall, ICs had palladium as well as gold.
