Hey all. I’m totally knew to this world and quite overwhelmed by the plethora of knowledge here.

So here’s my backstory on the found chemicals. My wife’s grandfather worked for IBM long ago. He has since passed on and I was helping clean out his home. I found a shoebox full of his old gold plating chemicals and most are in opened. I’ve no idea what they are, what they’re worth or if there’s a way to extract the gold content from them without plating something. I’ve attached some pictures. Maybe someone here will know.

Your grandfather left a nice little treasure behind.

Be careful! Some of those chemicals can be deadly!

You will probably be best served by selling them to someone who understands the value, the risks, and how best to extract the values.

There are several methods to extract the values from your inherited treasure and bear in mind that as frugal has pointed out you have some seriously toxic chemicals there but on the good side if you want to extract the values yourself the price of them is strong and likely to get stronger so taking time to read and study will not cost you much money. In honesty the best way to extract the values is to plate them out which can be done fairly cheaply but the first thing to do if you do decide to do this yourself is to ph test your bottles as mixing cyanide with any acid is a very very bad idea.
You can do this but read and study first and post any ideas before trying them to allow your peers to approve or correct your ideas, we will help but you do need to do the legwork as in reading and researching.
Good luck 8)
