I recently acquired some old boards and am going to cut them up for a HcL and peroxide soak. There looks to be gold traces under the green varnished areas as well.
My question is, will the HcL get under/through that to loosen the varnished areas like it does with the exposed gold/traces?

Thank you in advance for any info you can provide. I am a beginner with this process. Last batch did not turn out as expected so looking to make the best of these boards.

Try with one piece in hot but not boiling lye, it will take the green paint under one hour.
Be carefull, lye is a nasty stuff. Do it outside
Do not expect mutch gold , it look like flash plated gold.
