I was just getting ready to post an MSDS on this board for SMB. Looks like ya beat me to it. 8)

The basic hazards are respiratory... and it's mutagenic properties towards bacteria and yeast... I found it particularly interesting that the recommendation for skin exposure wasn't the standard wash thoroughly with soap and water, but rather "Wash with a disinfectant soap and cover the contaminated skin with an anti-bacterial cream. Seek immediate medical
attention."

to me, this translates as such... "can VERY easily help the normally benign bacteria which is already on you cause a severe infection"...

Sodium Metabisulfite can be bought at Home Depot - $6 for a 1 pound container.

It is called "Stump Out" made by Bonide. Make sure that you get the Stump Out made by Bonide. There are other stump removal products that may contain other chemicals not suitable for dropping gold.

Ask the store for an MSDS to be certain.

So from Stump Out MSDS:

Sodium Disulfite >98%

My question: Sodium Disulfite = Sodium Metabisulfite?
Might be a silly question, since it's very obviously been added to this SMB thread, but hey- better to ask a dumb question than make a stupid mistake, I say.

Also, process is exacly the same for Sodium Disulfite as it is for SMB?

Thanks in advance,
