Don't laugh, we're first time gold refining folks. First of all we started with chemicals that were old. Then we probably didn't measure as well as we should have. Lastly we didn't add things in the right order. We were overly anxious (obviously, right?). So we have a big mess that we're hoping we can save. We added the SMB first, let it sit for a couple of hours, the acid changed color, then we added the urea thinking it was going to drop. It didn't and we then added the tree stump remover. (Remember, don't laugh). Right now it's a light (or bright) green and there's sludge at the bottom. It doesn't look brown but closely resembles the diaper of a newborn. The good news is that we currently have all of the right ingredients but we don't know how to go forward. We don't know where the gold went, if there is any gold or anything. Does anyone know how we can go about saving our sludge? Any suggestions would surely be appreciated.

Tell us what you did from start to finish. Include what materials you are trying to refine and which chemicals you used along with the approximate amount of each.
It would be difficult for anyone to help you if they don't know what they are trying to help you with.
