The tiny little MLCC are a pain. I have seen many people cut them out in a tiny square. I recently took my air hammer to them. Everyone popped right of fast and easy. Maybe 2 seconds a chip it takes. Is there any down fall to doing it this way?
 
I believe you mean MLCC, short for Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor. I think most folks pop them off in a similar fashion or use heat to melt the solder then knock the board against something to dislodge them from the board.

Interesting. I would assume there is one of these for ever mechanical process though. Tin snip causing arthritis and so on.
