Hello,

I've come to the conclusion that I need a XRF spectrometer, preferably EDX (not WDX) because of the price, I'm thinking benchtop and not handheld.

The main goal is to analyse jewelry and pure metals (giving the proper standards). It would be nice if it measured metal layers.

What's the best cost/benefit unit?

The brands I know are the following:
Bruker
Thermo
Shimadzu
Oxford Instruments
Olympus
Skyray

I'm asking this because I only have searched online about, until now never worked with.

Thanks

Thanks Palladium,

I have seen this post already, and others on ebay.

Anybody knows a company that sells used XRF? I prefer benchtop over handheld.

Try http://www.labx.com/ for test equipment. A lot of different sellers there so I can't say anything about anyone specific. You never know what pops up there.
