In this document, they propose to separate the plastics from metals, then ferrous from non-ferrous metals, they state the target metals, copper, gold, silver and palladium are among non-ferrous metals, but today I did a small experiment shredding a motherboard, then use the magent to remove the ferrous metals, and clearly there were some gold plated pins in the ferrous metals.

I really like to know the pros take on this document.

Thanks

When you process a ton of material daily, that is going to happen. The shredding equipment does not get it down small enough to process gold pins. Also the magnets grab anything with steal on it. The gold pins are plated any ways, so even if you had a system the eddy current would send it to the copper or aluminium. Some guys have material coming in for days. So you process through the material as fast and efficent.
