I have this E.P. Zinc Alloy candle holder, possibly with silver, and I would like to know if, and how, I could recover the Zinc metal.

In this youtube video from Nurdrage, it looks pretty straight forward how to recover the Zinc powder from Zinc oxide with electrolysis, but I need to know how to dissolve the zinc alloy and separate it from the other metals en end up with zinc oxide.

From what I recall, some commercial operations, for zinc recovery, use vacuum distillation, basically a iron retort capable of low vacuum and high temperatures, the alloy melts and the zinc boils out of the retort and is condensed.

I have always wanted to try this to remove zinc from zinc allows used in a lot of our scrap we call aluminium, and is heavier than aluminium. Used in die-casting.
