Hey, I am planning on refining some gold from an old computer of mine, and have a few questions. Would this be safe to perform at my cottage, where there aren't neighbours for about 500ft? I am planning on using acid peroxide to remove the base metals, then use a second bath of HCl and Clorox to dissolve the gold. Would the chlorine be a problem? What rating of respirator do I need to look for? Also, how should I deal with my waste acids? I am a newbie and have never done this before, so some help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance.

Hi Cameron2 and welcome.

Outside, when the wind blow away from buildings, cars or living things. For small and sporadic quantities you should be okay.

However I'd suggest you to put all your chemicals and everything you know away for a while and start from here New Member Answers.
