Looking on Amazon for something to put under the sulfuric cell. Found 12x18 "Battery Acid Mat" and, somewhat cheaper, neoprene rubber mats. I also have some 6 mil plastic painter's lining. What would work best for working with sulfuric and/or nitric/AR?

A regular heavy duty black trash bag will work or you can also use cardboard from and old box. If you use cardboard though make sure you don't let it set for long periods of time because the carboard will start to break down.

[stt]If one were to lay out a polyethylene garbage bag, one must be careful to not inadvertently create a trip hazard.[/stt]

Edit: Forget that. For some reason the idea of a mat had me thinking this would be on the floor under your work area.

I'm small scale so I use a shallow plastic tub like ones for storage of clothes under the bed. Cheap at the local big box store.
