don`t know about that wire ever being gold plated (doubt it) but that pair of little pins, that the ribbon cable is connected to, are often gold-plated, pain to remove them, though

I tested on those Gold colored armatures early on when I still bothered to completely disassemble hard drives, negative for Gold unfortunately.
The "voice coil" is usually made of copper, but in some cases it is made of aluminium wire. 
Never gold or silver, there are no reason or advantage to use it in this application.

I was test this type of coil is gold wire.Remove them carefully,dissolving in AR and test with stannous chloride.The result is positive for gold.
