I am collecting resources for my first refining and I would like to know if melting is required when precipitating gold with ferrous sulfate. Also can someone please send me complete instructions on how to precipitate gold with ferrous sulfate. Thankyou

Regardless of your reducing agent, you'll have to melt the gold to create a button or ingot.

Add ferrous sulfate to the pregnant solution.
