Dear friends :
I was refining 100g of gold accessory (rings,earrings,...etc), i believe it is 18 carat gold 100%.........
So what i did is used AR to dissolved all this material ....
The thing is now i changed my mind and i want to precipitate 18 carat gold ........
So what i did is cemented all my material again with copper , but the precipitate is very slow.....
My question is how much long would be it take to recover all the gold 18 carat ???????? And how to speed up the process ????
Best regards..........................

You probably have excess Nitric acid that will have to be consumed first by the copper before the Gold will cement out.

Either way you will not be able to 'cement' out 18k Gold, if it was alloyed with Silver, the Silver would not have dissolved in the AR, if it was alloyed with Copper, then cementing with Copper will not precipitate the Copper obviously.

Your best bet to get 18k again is to take refined Gold and mix it with the right quantity of Silver or Copper to get 18k.

A little bit of heat 50 deg C max or so speeds up the cementing a lot.
