Hi, people can you please give me some idea how to remove black epoxy from the bottom of black fiber Intel Celeron and Pentium MMX without braking or boiling them? :) TY

I tried this on another board. WD40 works but you could leave it in acetone. My experience so far was it wasn't worth it. But good luck.

If you search the forum for black MMX there are a lot of threads about them. Plenty of walkthroughs.

Elbow grease is my preferred way to do it.

To use chemicals to dissolve the plastic at a hobby level would become expensive really fast, mechanical separation of the black epoxy that contains the bond wires is best, then treat them as the black top from plastic top BGA chips. Incineration and panning.

In larger quantities I think smelting, possibly with a collector metal together with similar scrap would be most effective, making refiners bars.
