Hi,
my hobby is metal detecting.
I search with a XP goldmaxx power things like helmets, weapons etc. from the worldwar 2.
I make treasure hunting on the beach an playgrounds, too.

hi, hunting for ww2 relics sounds interesting, have you ever found anything dangerous i.e. grenades?

i am new to the hobby and recently purchased a garrett ace 250(read some good reviews).

my first hunting trip was a river side site where i found only modern coinage and an old motherboard

Hi,
an old motherboard lol.
Yes I have found many dangerous Things. For example yesterday.
In one hole 8 ful M1 Garand clips and one german "gewehrgranate".
The ACE 250 is very good.

Great finds max,

There is a 16th century battle field on my doorstep, but i think i need more experience with my detector, there is loads of trash to get past.

I have been sticking to coin mode until i get my ear in. :|

wow, you are finding some really cool stuff with stories that have long been forgotten. love to see more pictures

I wouldnt worry about the rounds from the M1 garand. Anything exposed to the elments for that long has probably had the gun powder ruined. The gernade, well thats a different story. Leave it in place and call out EOD. I once saw a blog of a Panzer tank found at the bottom of a creek.

All the rounds are empty. There is no gun powder in it.
Here are new found from a WW2 place.

Regrads.
Max

Found one from Wayne county, Richmond Township in Indiana from this link http://www.rmilpe.net/WCVets.html#WayneCounty
No story on him though. His name is near the bottom of the partial list. On the website it's about a quarter the way down, just look for Richmond twshp.

Aha... my bad (sight)! Broderick Walter D..

Now, the list is not of all of KIA; so maybe he survived the war, but lost his dog tag which was found in Germany.

Thank you Smack!

No he's there, fourth line from the bottom. I just copied a small section from the page and all the names on the page are from one county. That county lost a bunch to the war. I'm not saying that it IS him but chances are pretty good it is.
