This is a bar I recently made that I'd like to sell. It was melted from some beat up 999 Sunshine Mint rounds that were all acid tested. The actual weight is 505 grams. Measures 3 7/8" x 1 1/2" x 1/2". Nice chunky 1/2 Kilo bar.
Asking $260 shipped anywhere in the 50 states. Currently well below spot.

Find a hand poured 1/2 kilo bar for cheaper. You won't. But whatever. I guess everyone else on this forum gets silver for free.
Its weird how I post questions and what not on this forum and never actually get an answer. Your silvers either fake, or its not worth their time. I'm done. You all have a great time on here.

When you poured your bar from known coins, it becomes an unknown sourced item.
You may trust yourself, but why should anybody else. You wasted your gas melting the known coins into an unknown blob. If you do it for yourself that is one thing. But expecting to sell it to others, was a mistake.

If it's stamped from a reputable source, you're right. But, I defer to Jim's answer.

I am curious as to a couple things though, one, what questions didn't get answered?

And two, did you accidentally do the math as avoirdupois ounces instead of troy?
- If so, it's cool. It happens. No need to get irked.

Everyone here just wants to help you. While it may not seem that way at times, I assure you, it's only because words themselves can be cruel and cold, and not show the spirit in which they were meant.

If you want to sell it and hit that $2 over spot, eBay is the way to go. Everyone on there loves to spend extra money on stuff. Just put an accurate description and you really shouldn't have trouble getting rid of it.

I usually post all my poured bars on eBay and they fetch a decent premium even after fees. But since I am a member here I thought I'd see If I could sell it without all Ebays bs. I guess I can't. Even at current price, and with the cost of making the bar it's not like I'm making any money so. Just thought I'd try to sell it here first. Probably won't be making anymore bars for me or to sell anyways. Only for a buddy. But thanks.

Are there any issues (legal) marking poured bars of anything as .999 ? Can anybody just mark anything with whatever they like ?

As long as it is what you mark it, then yes.

If it's not what you say then it is fraud.

Better sell it to the unknowledgeable civilians on EBay. I can't imagine anyone here being so unwise that they would want it at that price. You have taken a known (coins) and turned it into an unknown (generic bar). That was a foolish thing to do, in my opinion. If you price it at 10-15% under spot, you might get a buyer. However, a buyer would be taking a chance. They don't know you and, therefore, they would be buying a pig in a poke. Actually, many forum members are capable of producing poured bars as good or better than yours. Yours really doesn't look that great when the photo is enlarged.

From Wikipedia, "A pig in a poke (a bag, or sack) means that something is sold or bought without the buyer knowing its true nature or value, especially when buying without inspecting the item beforehand." That definition fits this situation to a tee.
