Dissolution in progress..W/new baby. It's a girl!!!!

Had a small batch of fingers in AP for 3 days now. Just rinsed, filtered and now dissolving in HCL-Bleach. Still several foils in solid state, but still wanted to test. Stannous test was positive for gold in solution. It went pretty dark pretty quick. Looks promising for what it is. Just thought I would share. More to come.





The dish after 4 melts. The residual gold flakes are from melt 1 in filter, grrrrrr. How can I recover without destroying my dish? Everything is owed to GRF and Ms. Hokes!!!

2ml. H2SO4, let settle for 10 mins. or so, then filtered again and added SMB .

Throwing down the gold as Ms hoke says.

Nice sheen on top. Knocked down with fine mist of H2O.

Is this gold coming out of solution from the last stannous test?

Too much smb.

False positive. The SO2 is reacting to the other metals in solution. Topher_osAUrus is correct about that.

My rule of thumb for SMB is 0.8 ~ 0.9 x expected mass of gold, then add more SMB if still testing positive.
It won't take long before you can do this visually.
