I had a solution of AR with gold and after dropping with ferrous sulfate I was still getting a little reaction when testing with Stannous Chloride.

I put solution on low heat and was thinking I would evaporate it slowly and it would concentrate it more but I forgot about about and it dried completely up. I added some HCl and there is a reddish color something that will not dissolve in HCl or HCl and Sulfuric.

Could this possibly be the ferrous sulfate turned iron oxide from evaporating to bone dry? Thanks image.jpg
