Hi group,

I've watched Jason demonstrate shaker tables on the MBMMLLC youtubes. On their website they advertise recovery of *free-milling gold* at %95 or better using this device; in a private message from MBMLLC I was told to expect more like %85 recovery of PMs when using the machine on crushed PCB.

Their design seems almost identical to the ones offered by a variety of Chinese importers on Ali Baba for 1/4 the price, not including taxes, duties, shipping, and 'unexpected expenses', eg., for repairs to bad welds and shoddy machining that are endemic on some cheap imports. (I recently had to re-tap the header on my 'Chicago' air compressor; after 20 hours of use, and the week after my warranty expired, the bolts shook loose, resulting in loss of pressure... :x )

If anyone has first hand experience in buying, transporting, setting up, and maintaining a shaker table, I'd be interested in PM responses from you. The models I'm most interested are intended to handle higher-value PCB, memory, and HD board.

I too import stuff from china. nice and cheap. Only for personal use!

BUT: If you are putting employees at work on this line, you'd better check if all safety standards are met and the necessary certificates are there.
As an importer of foreign equipment (and employer), you are responsible for the risks you introduce to the workspace.
You don't want your future profit to evaporate on an employees claim he lost his hand on your machine or worse.

Material standards and quality differences can and often will be a lot lower when bought from china. They are catching up slowly on many fields. E.g in Singapore they just found out that dust can cause explosions and these are pretty bad too. Which the rest of the world new for a long time... so safety standards from China... Hmmmm... prepare to rebuild some parts of your new machine. Look into mandatory certification for your region. Have a big spare parts cabinet and sound maintenance program to limit down time.

Many are out to make a quick buck...read: scam you. (they watch MBMMLLC too.... copy/paste is the Chinese way)

You could be lucky and hit the jackpot.
Will it break down before break even?

I waited 7 moths for a lab glas destillation set, and it just got cancelled and refunded, not paying the shipping and insurance back.. criminals :roll:
they say: order again... yeah right.

I have been watching Jason for years now. He has been consistent, reasonably priced and ofcourse in the US. I will absolutely be working with him as I got set up for large scale e-waste processing with my businesses. Consider using a PEO company to avoid risk and be able to offer fortune 500 benefits. I would love to discuss further.

Look at dry running electrostatic separators and blowers.
They are much more effective on crushed PCB's that a traditional shaker table.
The data would suggest this is much better suited as there is a clear differential between how metallic and none metallic particle act in such systems, whereas in water both can follow the same hydrodynamic forces and most polymers used in electronics are hydrophobic which is always unadvantageous for water based systems.

That percentage he quoted isn't a percentage of the gross weight. It's a percentage of the precious metals that the material contains. While that method does a pretty decent job of recovery, 85% of almost nothing is never going to be worth the time, effort and expense. And what you recover still has to be refined.
