I have 8 or 9 gold bearing filters from RAM fingers and a couple from filtering after drops. I’d like to put the filters into AR without incineration due to ash/carbon etc. What I don’t understand is that the AR solution will fully penatrate the filters and dissolve anything contained. So why do people insist on incinerating? I plan on fully rinsing all of the AR after I give this a go. Is the concern leaving some solution behind? Does the AR not affect filters thoroughly?

If you get the AR really hot it will break down the filters but to remove all the gold from them you need to use a vacuum filter with plenty of rinses until they run clear but you will end up with a lot of solution which is why many will incinerate to reduce the volume of solutions.
