I believe I posted this on the wrong thread before, so putting it here as well.

We want to purchase the formula/recipe for CLS by Action Mining, but we need to know how high the sulfur content is in our crushed ore to determine which one to purchase, CLS 21, 22, or 23. Do we need to send it somewhere to get it tested (if so, we'd love recommendations) or is there a way we can find out how much sulfur there is in our ore on our own? Thanks!

You really want to do a lot of test work on your ore before committing to purchase of a leach formula.

If the CLS leaches were as good as promoted the industry would be using them at some scale.

Problems with the CLS leaches include reagent cost, degradation products, plant specifications and recovery of leached gold.

At scales above lab use these problems are not something that can be easily explained away as teething or other minor type occurrences.

At the very least you should run multiple 20 to 50 kg ore parcels through the entire process with liquor recycling between the parcels.

The limitations of these processes soon become clear, they do not lessen when running larger parcels of ore.

Carrying out these types of programs is not cheap if using an outside lab and is usually not easy if done in-house unless plant is set up specifically for this use.

Usually the cost of carrying out these test programs is less than buying a leach formulation which does not suit your situation.

Most of these formulations are variations on leach systems which the industry does not use for either practical or financial reasons.

There is no mystery about why these systems will leach gold, that's basic chemistry.

Most of the mystery is marketing spin generated from the high reagent levels employed.
