What are the generally accepted tests for gold or gold chloride in solution besides Stannous Chloride?.
Thank you.

You could put couple of drops of gold bearing solution in a spot plate cavity and a crystal or two of ferrous sulfate and what for precipitation, aside from that there's AA or ICP, BUT most don't have access to that type of equipment.

Thanks for the informative response.
I neglected to mention that there are undesirables(arsenic, iridium, manganese, iron oxides, etc) in the solution along with gold and PGMs. Precipitation is difficult and requires several additives and appropriate ph prior to precipitation. Just as stannous is an indicator, I was wondering if there were any other "indicators".
