The beaker contains 1000 ml of noxxed AR now diluted and ready for precipitation, I'm testing to see exactly how much SMB is needed to complete the reaction before proceeding onto the larger batch.

The test tube a rather off the wall experiment, I had a small batch of ferrous sulphate in the makings, and got to thinking why waste all that time reducing to crystals just filter the garbage out and try it as a liquid.

No harm if there were any free sulphuric acid, anyhow the experiment seems to be a success, the gold in the test tube has precipitated.

I went onto a one liter batch, precipitation is instantaneous.

Whereas I have discovered SMB can be a sleeper taking as long as 20 minutes to react with the gold in solution.
