It is most likely gold deposited on the surface by tiny SO2 bubbles and are light enough to be held up by surface tension. Use a spray bottle with water to knock it loose from the surface and it will settle to the bottom.

Another solution is to put a drop of dawn dish detergent to break the surface tension.
