Hi.
I'm quite new to this Forum (and to this thing of scraping something precious from e-waste), and I've learned a ton of information during the past nights about the subject. And I am certain that I took only a drop of the imense knowledge and experience posted here.
Well... Let's get to the point.
This morning, while dismantling two PC DVD readers/recorders, I noticed the laser diodes that I ignored until today. And also some other piece that yelled "gold" when I spoted it beneath a tiny board in the reader/writer head of the device.
Are those gold plated?
The squares in the sheet are 4mm wide (6 of them are almost an inch).
(I used the metric system because I'm from Europe (Portugal), but I tried to convert things into your system. That before someone says I suck at math...)
I enclose also a photo of the drawers of the DVD readers/writers for intel.
And, before going back into my garage, I thank you for sharing your knowledge. This Forum is awesome!!!
