Hi
I had some gold that I separated from 150 ram finger. I went to goldsmith workshop for melting my gold particles. He melted golds and filter paper on a steel and give me just 70 milligram gold!!!
I asked him "Why you don't melt them in the crucible" and he answered "Because gold may be oxidize"
He didn't give me slag. I just bring steel and my gold. So what was my mistake and where is my gold?

Sounds like he either has no clue of what he is doing, or he knows a good way to get some of your gold.
A crook or just ignorant about gold?
You may or may not have all of your gold, dried it should weigh the same before and after melting...

I would ask him to give you the steel he used, and then I would spend a little time to learn how to melt my own gold.

From what I can tell of the picture, it did not look like you had much gold as foils, to begin with, and it would not melt into a very big bead, I cannot say, but melting gold with, or on, steel would be a good way for someone to steal some gold during the melting.

Small flakes of gold will look always look like a lot more gold than there is, with all of the glimmers and glitters to the eye always makes it seem like a lot more than after melting it into a bead...

150 sticks of RAM is about 3 kilos, so fingers should yield around one gram.

No one knows where your gold is.

A valuable lesson learned is that you should learn how to do the recovery to refining yourself then you won't have anyone else to rely on. Luckily for your the amount that could have potential been lost or stolen is small. Put everything aside for now and study some more while you gather the proper equipment to melt your own gold. I would also suggest that you learn how to do the refining stage as well since the foils you collected and had melted are not pure at all.

Thanks guys
Should I dissolve steel in AR for some gold? Some parts of it is golden (Look at picture please), Are they gold?
