Hello to you all.
I am a 60 year old mec.engineer, retired, but still young in mind.
For the last 18 years I was a farmer, growing a hell of a lot strawberries each year, and since 1992 I became a winemaker. You may find it strange that I started to grow red Pinot Noir grapes here, far north up in Norway.
But I tried, and I made a pretty good wine too.
My website is www.munchwine.com and now in December the wines are to be tasted in Bordeaux - I am a bit terrified by the oldies in winemaking. But anyhow- ???
Up through the years I have allways been interested in Computers an such stuff. Early starting to pick them apart and wondered what was inside. Collecting the harddiscs and CPU's - I have a garrage full of old stuffs like this.
So one day, one of my grandchildren, who named me Qio for a reason I never been told, asked me to study HOW TO REFINE ALL THIS STUFF. May be there is some gold and platina in it.
Surfing around on internet I found Steves web site last Thursday and here I am.
By the way: In Norway we have a very good system in collecting and sorting out the different wastes - but we are not so good in refining the metals and so. We ship to Sweden outranged PC's and electronicsstuffs - they recover and refine ca. 15 metric tons of gold from this "waste from Norway" every year since five back. Hello ....... someone.. lazy or stupid here in my small and rich Norway.... Are we starting to be decadent....??
I will learn to refine and my grandchildren will have all the good stuff I make. They are worth every penny of it all.
Thank you all upfront , in guiding me throug this new materials to learn - I may ask some stupid quiestions on the way - so be foregiving about that.
