Howdy from Texas!

I am a single dad with two teenage kids at home. We just started recycling to make some extra money. I have found that I am able to get quite a bit of electronics such as computers and cell phones to work with.

My youngest son and I are the ones really doing it. My daughter isn't too much into it. Like I said, it gives us a little extra money and it gives us something to do together. My son is having a blast.

This forum has been extremely helpful and there is a vast amount of knowledge and experience here that plan on taking advantage of. There have been some things that I hadn't really thought of until reading some of the posts. Thanks everyone!

Money really works to get a womans interest, give her some of the profits, always worked for me.

I used to take my two to the golf course picking balls, I cut the bottom out of a plastic bucket and glued in a piece of glass, making it easy to see what treasures lay beneath the water.

My kids help me work on the car and go to the salvage yards to find parts. Great for getting into places I can't Plus it teaches hard work and that not everything is free.

My daughter(10) is fixing her own car to drive when she hit's 16. She'll have earned it.

Make sure he wears a dust mask those computers are aweful dusty but after that for sure. Kids love helping dad and using real tools. But then again I've been working in dusty dangerous places since I'm about 5 with no adverse effects errr....

Funny . I am more concerned about me wearing a dust mask for allergies!. We have torn apart things from very clean to having mouse nests and droppings in them. The ones with the nests and droppings seem to be the most fruitful since they are real old and look to be seriously gold plated mobo's.

My father has a scroll saw that he has been wanting to give me for quite some time and we are going to Longview in a couple of weeks and I am going to take him up on it. That will help with the fingers. Definitely being wearing masks then.

I've torn down some vehicles wear swear I could feel I we getting the plague.

This one is a great example.... No more floors no trunk, barely no quarter panels Mice houses all over with dead mice and live ones.. I still did a burnout though because you just have too
