I have been requested to analyze catalytic converters PGM's by XRF.

There are standards available?

Can I make my own standards? Perhaps impregnating the ground converter with synthetic PGM solution then drying it?

This is the spectrum I got with LiF 200 crystal from 10º to 100º, you can see the Pd and Rh peaks but without the standards I cannot quantify it.

The Au peaks are spectral impurities from the tube.

The converter was ground to 200 mesh and pressed with wax at 200 kN.

Your XRF manufacturer may be able to help. Please post the solution when you get it.

Apparently, this converter does not have Pt.

Here is the EDX spectrum of the pressed pellet

and the EDX of the copper used to collect this sample

Both does not show Pt.

I can find used catalytic converter standards from companies like Fluxana, but I would have to import and with this pandemic, things are much more complicated and slower.

I think I will send some of it to be analyzed by ICP and use this sample as a standard.
