I panned down some wave table concentrates from a quartz ore, to about 2.5g of material. I was guessing a little less than 1/2 of it was gold.
I roasted it, then mixed it with about 90g of legends fire assay flux with flour. It seemed like it should be plenty to handle that amount of impurities.
I ran it the same as my other assays. Fused for 40 minutes once it reached over 1900f. I got a lead button of 26 grams, and cupeled it like I normally do.
Everything seemed fine (slag, button size, etc) but I got way less gold than I anticipated, .2g. Maybe that’s all the gold there was, I’m pretty inexperienced at guessing the weight of gold in the pan.
But I was curious if there’s a limit to how much gold the standard fire assay lead will collect?
I think most of us are always hoping for more gold than we get, but I figured I would ask.

Thanks?
