How much for all of it?

I'd like to see more pictures of the CPUs if possible.

I'd also like to know the total of how many gaylords of boards there are.

They look just like these..

I understand what they look like in general. I would like pictures of your inventory, so I can determine the value of what you have.

If they are mixed, separated, which versions, which brands. they could look very alike but have very different valuations.

I am prepared, to go to the bank, pull $10k+, and start heading to California to buy all of it.

I also need to know how many gaylords of material you have, so I know what vehicle I would need to take, or if I would just fly there and drive back.

If I just go off the description assuming the numbers are accurate, and after studying the pictures you included in the your first post of this thread. I'll offer you $10,000 even, cash in hand.

i have roughly 2k-3k lbs. in boards at 5.75 lb thats close to 15k alone...
chips about another 100 lbs. at 175 lb..
i think you will need more than that my friend..
heres a video of just the gold chips...note your name and date written on box!

First, I want to say I appreciate the video, thank you for taking the time to make it.

The price of $10,000 that I offered, just based off the description and pictures in your first post, breaks down as $7,500 for 3000 lbs. of mixed board at $2.50/lb. and $2500 for 100 lbs. of mixed CPUs at $25/lb. (mind you, I didn't have any pictures of any CPUs other than the 1 picture of black fiber.).

I don't mean this to be insulting in any way, I'm being purely professional with this following statement: I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but your board inventory as a whole, and mixed, is not worth $5.75/lb., and your CPU inventory as a whole, and mixed, is not worth $175/lb.

The following pictures for reference is why.

Where's Waldo.jpg

This is just what I circled so far, and I could easily keep going. That's just in the first box.

Aluminum Cap Action.png

A whole lot of Aluminum Top action going on here, worth $25/lb.

More of the same..png

More AMD Ceramic ($40/lb.), Pentium 1 ($45/lb.), Aluminum Top ($25/lb.)

1659989196415.png

Black Fiber ($40/lb.)

A Lotta Little.jpg

Mid grade, small socket, unprocessed, heatsinks, steel plates, and more. This is $2.25/lb.

1659990592490.png

Devalued Green board, Looks pretty ($2.00/lb.)

1659990817221.png

Mixed unprocessed, steel plate, heat sinks fans, Worth $4.50/lb. average after it's processed.

If it was sorted, and processed, I could pay more. But at the moment you have a lot of mixed, with a lot of unknown buried in it.

As is, it's worth $10,000 and that's if the weights are what you say they are, because it is going to take a lot of time to sort, finish processing, transportation, etc. If I have to do the work, I'm not paying top dollar.

I'm just being honest and straight with you, no hard feelings of any kind. It's just business.

Thank you for your time.

hey i appreciate your evealuation and its excatly how I would buy and bought this lot..I have to downgrade someones product also in hopes they buy into it also...sometimes it works and sometimes i just have to pay what its really worth when the seller understands his product as good as me...That i dont have a problem doing that either when i can.. i will pay top dollar!!
Even if i make small profit.. just to make something..and I respect the knowledge...
So its up to you to make a better offer or just pass on this one..cant win em all Right!
maybe I will send the next batch your way and see if you can do better..

Thanks!

o_O Sorry jons007 but that is just flat out unrealistic --- that is the prices for high grade stuff - like high grade telecom

For what it is worth - I used to buy & sell about 8 - 12 (or more) gaylords of boards per month & did so for 8 - 10 years --- so have a fair amount of experience in buying & selling boards

You say you have 5 gaylords of boards - but you only show pics of two gaylords

My first question is - what's in the other three gaylords ? --- power supply boards that are only worth 40 cents a pounds ? --- or ?????

Lets look at one of those gaylords you show a pic of

1660060396030.png
At best I see a few boards (finger cards) worth $4.70/lb (for high grade) or low grade worth $2.25/lb --- & a whole lot of both high grade peripheral (worth $2.50/lb & low grade peripheral (worth 75 cent/lb)

If I was to buy that gaylord - because it is mostly a mix of both high & low grade peripheral (with a few finger cards) I would at best only pay $1.50/lb - maybe $1.75/lb (& maybe even as low as $1.25/lb)

Keep in mind - I have no intent to buy what you have - so I have no reason to low ball you --- it's just what I see based on personal experience buying & selling relatively large amounts of boards

I most certainly would not pay $5.75/lb for that gaylord

Now the other gaylord

1660063079612.png

There is no question that there is some $5.75/lb stuff in there - BUT - not all of it is that high grade - nice stuff though over all

So - IMO - AMS-Pro is being generous at $4.50/lb - for that gaylord

But even then - I would want to see that gaylord dumped out on the ground - just to make sure there is not a bunch of power supply boards in the bottom (or other lower grade in the gaylord then what is on top)

There is still the question of --- what's in the other three gaylords ???

Jons007 - I get it - you worked hard to build up that stash - but lets be realistic here - how do you expect someone to pay that high grade $5.75 price for all of your boards - when in fact not all of them are worth that much

AND - the buyer has to spend time & money to come get them - haul them home - sort &/or process them

Meaning the buyers actual cost is higher then your $5.75 asking price

Now lets move on to the ceramic Chips/CPUs (next post)

Kurt

chips about another 100 lbs. at 175 lb..
$175 is the price for the very highest grade of ceramic Chips/CPUs

Are you saying you expect to get $175 for all of your 100 pounds of MIXED ceramics

That is just flat out unrealistic !!!

Ceramics start as low as $26/lb & run up to the high of $175

there are basically 12 grades of ceramics

in order - from the lowest grade to the highest grade there prices are as follows

AMD K6 aluminum top = $26/lb --- (but you want $175)
DLP ceramic = $30/lb --- (but you want $175)
Black Fiber = $42/lb ---(but you want $175)
Pen/Mac ceramic = $43/lb ---(but you want $175)
AMD ceramic (no metal) = $43/lb --- (but you want $175)
Cyrix/IBM/VIA gold cap = $60/lb ---(but you want $175)
Double side gold CPU = $100/lb ---(but you want $175)
Pen Pro gold cap = $100/lb --- (but you want $175)
LSI/NEC/Foreign gold cap = $100/lb --- (but you want $175)
Motorola gold top or bottom = $165/lb
386/486 gold cap = $165/lb
gold cap gold leg 8086 ICs = $175/lb

Any heat sinks &/or fans still glued to the CPUs down grade there value

So claiming $175/lb for MIXED ceramics is just unrealistic

With that said - I agree - AMS-Pro price of $25/lb for MIXED ceramics is also unrealistic

The bottom line will be my next post

Kurt

I am only asking for realistic prices...
i did not include any fiber chips..they have been sold since i listed them...
Motorola gold top or bottom = $165/lb
386/486 gold cap = $165/lb
gold cap gold leg 8086 ICs

boards i can do at 4.50 not AN ISSUE..
i am actually trying to sell thsi stuff and not hold onto it..
negotiating is a part of selling isnt it..
maybe im doing this all wrong..should I realistically start at the lowest price??
then move up to highest price???

So jons007 - you have options

You can pay to ship your current MIX of boards to a board buyer (like Boardsort - Dynamic - IRT - etc. etc.) they will then sort your boards & then pay out based on the sort - but they will charge you for doing the sort - so you will pay for shipping plus sorting

Or you can do the sorting (invest more of your time) you just need to make sure you do a good sort or they will ding you if you try to slip some low grade in with high grade - then pay to ship the sorted boards - so you save on them doing the sorting - but spend more time to sort yourself

Or you can have a buyer come to you - to look at your MIXED lot & work out a deal --- In this case - because they are mixed - he at best can only estimate value & he is likely going low ball that as he is going to want leave himself a cushion to insure making a profit --- in other words - fair price but at the low end of fair --- he is also going to factor in that he still needs to sort when he gets home & as well factor in his cost to come get them

Or you can have them well sorted before the buyer comes to you - you will get a more true value - per type board - because they are already sorted - but he is still going to factor out his cost of coming to get them

The bottom line is that no matter which option you chose - there is going to be a cost that you have to pay to off load your boards

In other words - no mater how/where you off load these boards - you are going to pay to ether - ship the boards to a buyer - or pay the buyer to come get them --- no buyer is going to pay the shiping from you to them - & no buyer is going come & get them for free

or you can sit on them because you think none of the above is fair &/or workable ????

In other words - even if you do a very good sort & therefore know the exact value of your boards --- you are not going to get that full value --- because one way or the other - you still have to pay to ship the boards - or pay to have someone come get them

No one works for free - they work to make money - not give it away !!!

For what it is worth

Kurt

I'd should add, as my $10,000 offer wasn't accepted. I'm going to officially retract it.

Good luck Jons007.

Batter up for whomever else is interested.

Like i said im not new to this.Ive helped pioneer the recycling industry..Ive sold to everyone just about in the business from small to large deals...May have even sold to people on here unknowingly..ebay etc.Ive also been one of the biggest nuyers of CPUs on the west coast..Sold to hobbyists etc.But again have never founf a straight shooter thats honest and reliable and ependable enough to sell to.That being said I give up here in this community and Of course we all work hard for our money and none want to give it away which is why i like to negotiate the best deal for me and the buyer..

if you cant make money why would you buy again/
but if you can I have to go on assay report numbers of what gold silver rhodium copper etc. comes out of this suff not what you tell me you made..

as is, I definitely would not buy this lot for 10 000 (or more), if i was interested

then again, no way I'd sell it for 10 000 (or less), if they were mine....

lol
