Hey guys, I processed a batch of fingers the other day and
dropped the ball on rinsing the foils, now I have green au/cl.
I filtered and added smb but for some reason I got about 1/5
of the brown mud that I got from the previous same weight
same lot batch. .45 grams vs. the expected 2.55 grams. Did
the base metals that I failed to rinse off retard precipitation?
Can I save this batch?
thanks,
steve

is the solution positive for gold?

in either cases, you can add another teaspoon of SMB and let it sit for 3-7 days.
beware, that dirty AuCl3, takes much longer to fully precipitate if at all, and the gold that dropped is not clean.

on a side note, i don't see whay change a procedure that you allready proved successful.
this shortcuts will only consume more time and chemicals from you.
