Hi, I have a batch of honeycombs that have been processing 48 hours.
Instead of submerging the combs in hcl I only filled the container to
about 3/4 of the honeycombs height, thinking that using a spray bottle
to spray the clorox onto the top of the combs would get the hcl/cl down
into the veins better. Then after a few days I could turn the combs over
and process the 1/4 that hadn't been processed. Well 48 hours into the
leach I went back to add clorox and I found a pale yellow crystal formation
on the surface of the combs and also on the bottoms of the combs sticking
them to the bottom of the crock pot. My question is, what could the pale
yellow crystal formation be? And is there anything I can do to avoid it?
Thanks,
Steve
