Dear Forum,

Please someone advice me that, "what ratio is perfect of Aqua Regia to dissolve gold plated pins as first step to recovery gold? Is =HCL:HNO3 is 3:1 or 4:1 or 8:1?

Here is my gold pin recovery process link =
https://youtu.be/GsZCNYEqj2A , but HNO3 cost go to high... One big hearted man advice me, take action with Aqua Regia reito as 8:1/HCL:HNO3... Is the perfect ratio for dissolve gold plated pins?

Thanks with Love đź’™

If you're concerns are nitric costs, dont't even think of dissolving copper or brass pins with nitric.
That's not the way to get the gold from the pins anyway.
Nitric is usefull for aqua regia later on it the process.

Study AP or the sulfuric stipping cell. Don't attempt anything before you asked here if your plan is solid.

Martijn.

Thanks for posting a video on how not to process gold plated pins.

Yes, I am being sarcastic.

Time for more coffee.

Here is another video, I've to process the nitric acid ratio as (HCL:HNO3= 10:1) result just awesome... If you’ve time to watch my video, please watch it... All of credit my good hearted friend @Perry S. He suggested me that's process.. Thanks for reply 💙

One question, why do you add water after adding SMB to your gold chloride solution?

I can't see any benefit to add water after the SMB is added. Before filtering it would help precipitate silver chloride, but I can't think of anything it would improve after the SMB is added.

Dear Goran,

After smb, adding water to make acids acidity volume to low... It's ok, next batch I apply your decision to proven the result of gold Precipitating... Thanks
