I guess I dont understand

I am processing a batch of Catalytic Converter beads. I got all the PMs to drop just like Steve showed on the video. I put the PMs into AR and extracted the RH and I proceeded to the boil it down to syrup stage and then it happened. All my PMs dropped before it got to the syrup stage as Steve's video instructed. I just don't understand what went wrong. I tested the liquid before I started boiling it and it gave me great reaction with stannious but once it dropped I get nothing with stannious. I have not filtered out the PMs and retested them but it appears they are all in the bottom and are black in color.

Rh is not likely to dissolve in aqua regia under normal conditions.
how did you extract Rh boiling sulfuric? bisulfate fusion?
once in the PM's are in aqua regia solution your metals will usually stay there, did you have other metals involved (lower in series)?

I extracted all the PMs from the AR with the soda ash and zinc then filtered out the PMs. I used AR to take the other PMs from the Rh.

maybe zink pushed your metal out of solution.

Ok so how do I get the zinc out

HCL prewash should dissolve zink, leaving the more noble metals.

Do it out side or in a ventilated area, you have to worry about hydrogen gas being produced in quantities. KABOOM!!!! 8)
