Dear All, Can any one suggest the best layout for refining activity considering the 1)equipment position, 2)storage of acids, 3)disposal of acids, 4)exhaust & ventillation system, 5)fume cupboards, 6)storage facility for the dust bags/liquid cans, 7)safety gadgets to manage any accidental emergency as well as environmental emergencies, 8)staff work area, 9)Change/Wash rooms etc...

Kindly let me know is there any model layouts available for the above requirements.

Regards,

Mighty eager aren'chya...
You just joinded the forum and expect to accomplish everything already?....
Hopefully you have done this before.
When asking something this in depth, you need to better describe how much space you have as well and most importantly, what materials exactly you will be "refinning" from.

BS.

Sometimes the sillyest of questions are the best...

4metals had a good layout and discussion about it here. http://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=4789&p=41314&hilit=+layout#p41314

Everything else is easier to find with the search.

good luck

If you are making a business out of this, which it seems that might very well be your intent, you might want to check with OSHA and your states EPA. Both have specific requirements on exits, eye wash stations, positions of doors and how many feet to an emergency exit and a lot more. For example, a fume hood cannot be without x-amount of feet from an emergency exit in case it fails and your environment is polluted with toxic gases. There are all kinds of things like this that must be considered.
