Can any one share any information about this board. As far as I know it is a telecom board. I have 3 of them. Notice the warning sticker.

That looks like an aweful nice board.
Can you get a closer pic of the sticker, and any other numbers or names from the board?

Beryllium oxide? I suppose it is the white ceramic looking parts?

Any one finds boards like these BE AWARE!

It is a very nice board for sure but you should see the better ones

Yes it is beryllium Oxide. It's used as an insulator. You are fine as long as you do not grind it(generate dust). It is highly carcinogenic and can cause Berylliosis...bad bad stuff.
Your problem is the Xinger chips by Anaren(see pic). There may be more, but those are the ones that I see right off the bat.

If its not steppin' on any toes. Can I ask how would someone obtain Telecom boards besides ebay or knowing someone on the inside of the phone company. I ran into a friend that works for southwestern bell/ att but, they said the company supplies it to one buyer by massive bulk. -Andrew

(Scratches head)...Thats a good question. We do have a thread called "Where to find scrap",but I don't think any of us have discussed commercial equipment/material.I lucked out in getting my material.I have owned a tree service for 17 years in cocoa florida(Nasa Capital). Most of my customers are employed by nasa,or ones of its very many contractors. So in my case it was just a matter of letting my customers know what I was doing and the material started pouring in.2 years ago,the son of one of my customers called me to inform me that Lockheed Martin was stripping a Navy Destoryer and we were entitled to all of the equipment that was to be disposed of.Of course we had to prove a few things, and make a few promises, but the sheer volume of equipment took us about a week, and about 10 loads(in a very large trailor, just to transport all of the equipment about 20 minutes away. Some of the older members saw the pics of the equipment.I still have 100's of pounds of boards just from that endeavor, including, port and starboard sonar boxes circa 40's or 50's.
Unless you had a large company I doubt you would have luck finding equipment like that on a large scale. And of course as time goes on,the material from that era gets less and less, and the newer stuff has less and less gold on it.

Here is the thread explaining my luck on these boards. http://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9585 There is supposed to be 8 more crates of these.(the ones in the link) they are really good! There was 10 pounds of nice processors on the boards. The fellow I got them from is trying to track them down. There are about 50 boards in a crate. I also got 10 telecom racks to take apart. There are about 400 small torx screws in each one. I will save these for an A D H D day!

Thanks for the info Mic. I will just leave these parts where they are.

That's pretty neat stuff about the destroyer mic. I would like to have seen that. Thanks for the link that's an awesome find. Just seen 102 lb lot on ebay for 399.+ 100 for shipping. Way too much for me. -Andrew

Barren, that kid that delivered saturday brought me about 20 pounds of those.I'm running them through my new toy when I get it.Also ASK don about that stuff!!! I may have to drop some equipment off about 100 miles from him,I can just pick that other stuff up while I am there. If you don't ask him I am calling him!

You need to run them thru some sodium hydroxide to remove the masking unless you are going to run them in the ball mill after incineration and leach them. The ones I have do have seem to have some PM's under the msking but I need to run them thru some sodium hydroxide to make sure.

I've got to call him back when I get back to the house and I will ask him then.

These boards are from obsolete TDMA cell tower equipment. I have personally removed this equipment from about 30 sites last year
and usually the customer needs the space and just wants it to disappear. At 12 to 24 cards per site they add up quick, not to mention
all the aluminum, copper, and steel. The last cabinet I removed brought almost $1500 in scrap after I cherry picked it. I have found
that exact card that you pictured in most of the sites along with a few that are totally covered with green mask over the gold plating.
