Does any one knows If we smelt DDR2 and 3 type ram ICs ( which are small bga chips with solder balls at back) properly without any collector metal. How much metal will we get from 1 kg of these ICs?
It depends on the pre processing, revision on the IC’s and more.
Solder should be removed before smelting.
If not, Nitric can not be used.
Collector metals are more or less mandatory in smelting.
Copper, Silver or Lead are the most used.
Bismuth can be used if you want to cupel it.

Are there a reason for why you do not want to use a collector metal?
Well reason for not using collector metal is that e waste itself has sufficient metals to be act as collector metal. While I remelted the slag and got 10 gm metals and there are several tiny metal ball stuck between slag and crucible. Now I will resmelt it again with collector metal.

Well, you can not control what the producers have put in their chips.
Al, Fe ir what ever, but you can control what you put in yourself.
And how much.
