Just a question for those that have used the iodine leach.
There are various techniques or approaches to leaching gold with Iodine. One such suggestion was to add clorox to convert the gold iodide to a gold chloride and then adjust the pH to 7. The one by the Late Mr Williams refers to adjusting the pH to 7 and then the gold as black or brown powder precipitates.
Iodine is supposed to be selective for gold but on the Forum there is an excellent article on recovering all metals as you would do when recovering from AR.
Has anyone ever re-dissolved the precipitate fom the Iodine process with AR. I ask because the use of SMB after the AR if properly treated by boiling down etc and removing nitric produces a very good brown powder.
Any experience and advice would be appreciated.
