I know its been discussed before, but i thought i'd post how easy it is to find. I used to get a lot from flashing for roofing. This however i've come across a lot when i'm not looking.
Was out walking this afternoon and walked through an old Sears Auto parking lot. There were 100's of battery posts all over. There were also dozens upon dozens of wheel weights everywhere. Just an easy way for anyone needing some lead.

A lot of the newer wheel weights are not lead any more, or actually it's none of the newer ones are lead, and the old lead ones are getting very hard to find.

Best place I've found is a shooting range. Or an old dirt road/turn out people like to shoot at.
Just dry pan the bottom of the hill where the bullets are shot into, wash them, then torch melt them on a steel screen with a pan underneath to remove the metal jackets.

Roto metals has high purity lead and it’s cheap. I think I got 6-8 pounds for 20 ish bucks.

I don’t like to spend money when I don’t have to but sometimes it’s far easier to just drop a few bucks.
