I am wondering if it is possible to put Silver Nitrate in a cell after using it to cement silver off of copper. Will it be too contaminated to use as the electrolyte in a cell?

If you cement out the Silver from Silver Nitrate you have Silver metal and Copper Nitrate.
That can not be used in a Silver cell.

You started with silver in solution as silver nitrate, added copper to cement the Silver out of solution. What do you mean by cementing Silver off Copper? The Silver should be loosely adherent to the copper and fall off naturally. If the copper nitrate is too high in concentration it will not serve you well in a Silver cell as it will co-deposit with the Silver at the cathode.

Remember we recently had another question that someone thought you can make silver from copper by magic?
I suspect there is a video uot there causing this misconception.
Edited for spelling.

I think you suspicion may be right.
That is why I post in a slightly ambiguous way so the poster may fill in the blanks by his own words.

YouTube is covered up with videos titled as such or similar. A title search of YouTube for "turning copper into to silver" brings up a large number of videos as well as using the word gold in place of silver. Most are legitimate, but the titles are misleading.
