sulfuric cell ?

Hi guys for those who use the sulfuric cell to de-olate gold plated objects I have a question. I have a friend who has a silver chineasee coin that has been plated (24 kt plating) he wants to get rid of the plating and keep the silver coin. Can I use the sulfuric cell to do this or will the acid also eat or damage the silver coin. thanks in advance . surshot

Yes it is very capable of "pitting" his coin.
