I'm so glad I found this forum. I was all ready to start mixing chemicals and had no clue as to the extent of their harmful potential. I knew the acids and their reactions were dangerous, of course, just not the degree. Thanks to all the knowledgable and professional members here, I won't be burning my house down or lying dead in my garage (I hope!). I have a plan to properly store and handle the chemicals, and won't be doing any processing until all the safety measures are in place. Thank You again.

You're very lucky. Very. Myself, and for myself only, I have carefully evaluated the chemical hazards and EPA fine hazards against the total value of the gold I might be able to gather from dead PCs and electronic stuff and even judicious jewelry buys. And I simply can't justify it. I repeat, that's just for me; there are definite ways to handle these issues and they are well laid out on this forum but I would bet you a nice shiny silver round that I simply paid money for and which arrived in an assayed form on my doorstep via US mail; that around the world, easily two dozen people or more are killed, blinded or de-lunged by plunging ahead with this stuff after watching YouTube videos and figuratively, diving in.
