This is a summary of my knowledge for refining old jewelry
50 grams of 10K gold
1) I would mix an equal amount of copper and melt it
2) then quartation this amount to have small pellets
3) in a glass container mix nitric acid to get rid of the base metals
4) dry it use urea to get rid of excess nitric acid
5) use Aqua Regia to dissolve the gold
6) precipitate with SMB
7) keep the liquid for silver
8) keep the gold and dry it and melt it
If anyone can add a few comments to impove this technique that would be nice
Thanks
